Comanche
|
greetings
(he's not ready to halter) |
Interested,
but shy: hiding behind his new girlfriend Windy |
Asking
him to lower, wait& release for a tiny softening but don't push for
a full give at the poll |
After halter
& petting, I'm going back to asking but don't pull hard, just hold |
First approach
to hind leg |
Grooming,
he's not quite sure, he's free to walk, but doesn't. |
First encounter
with a quilted pad, note slack rope. I'm not totally in front of him but
a bit to the side for my safety in case I miss something -- Slingshot,
Rositta, and Windy are loose in the pen with Comanche and I |

The sound
of my nails on the pad gets him a little worried. I had a hunch this might
happen. I raised the pad slowly and hold it, he'd be too worried if I waved
the pad wildly. |
Velcro
noise! |
halter
off is just as important as on. I'm asking him to tip his head, it took
us a few minutes... |
...a few
minutes taking the halter off properly earn us a quiet and nice good-bye.
I walk off, he lingers. |
