Progress: he's overcoming
his fear of things above him
He is getting used to me saddling
and getting on other horses around him. I've been rubbing Windy's saddle
and adjusting my position in the saddle -- at first, every shift would
startle Comanche.

In the previous days I've
led him up and down the driveway, took him to investigate the horsetrailer,
sent him in-between scary objects, and spent more time asking him to give
at the poll when haltering, unhaltering, and anytime. Progress, too, is
that he has started taking his eyes off me, guess that means he's relaxing
. He has started to like scritchies, and even offered to groom me. He's
very good about letting me know what his reactions are, he has a sigh-noise,
very distinct, to tell me when I'm getting too close with a scary object
.. he'll sigh before moving off. He's ok to lead, and even tied him to
a tree and he was fine. |

He
allowed me to let the beachball roll off on the other side, a big step
in trust. |

I'm
doing step aerobics with beachball. Since he is apprehensive when I get
on another horse, I though getting on/off the mounting block would be good.
He raised his head, but didn't leave. |
